Hi there, I hope you’re having a lovely day!
I’ve been on an ink-blending kick and today I’m sharing another emboss resist background in some pretty pink Distress Oxides.
I started by using VersaMark ink and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Kaleidoscope background onto a larger than A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock.
Then I used foam blending tools to blend spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks onto the background. I loosely followed the pattern to highlight the flower shape in the middle.
I used the Oh, Baby Words die set, also from Simon Says Stamp, to die cut the sentiment out of black 110# Recollections cardstock and the shadow out of vellum. I adhered them together with glue.
When I was trimming the background down to A2-size, I made a mistake and trimmed too much off of one end. So, rather than have the flower centered in the background, I kept trimming so it would be a bit to the left while I adhered the sentiment a bit to the right. To make up for over-trimming, I added a strip of black cardstock on the left side of the background which I hope helps to balance the black sentiment.
To finish the card, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for coming by!
