Feel Good Cards, Just For Fun Cards

I Love You More Than Coffee

Happy Monday!Β  Another Monday, another coffee-themed card.Β  πŸ™‚

Today’s card uses the Perfect Blend stamp set from Neat and Tangled.

I began by stamping the coffee cup and saucer image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink.Β  I did some quick coloringΒ  using BV11 and BV for the cup, and C1 for the shading around the cup.Β  I also used a Copic Multiliner pen to fill in the saucer line which is actually two fine lines very close together but which I had trouble getting to stamp as two separate lines. I then stamped the brown coffee and hearts image in Hero Arts Cup O’ Joe ink and fussy cut around the saucer.

I took a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and trimmed it with the largest die from the My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set.Β  Using a foam blending tool, I blended a very soft cloud of Shaded Lilac Distress Ink around the center of the card.Β  It’s so soft that it was very hard to photograph!Β  To create a splatter effect over the purple halo I also sprinkled some water over the card, let it sit for a few seconds, and then dabbed it up with a paper towel.

Using a Misti stamping tool, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx ink, and then stamped the set of hearts in Altenew Lavender Fields ink.

Finally, I popped up the saucer and mug using foam tap and then adhered the card front to an A2-sized piece of Recollections gray kraft paper which I in turn adhered to an A2-sized card base.

Thank You Cards

With Thanks

Hello! I hope your weekend is going well and that the sun has been shining for you!

Today’s card uses the Neat & Tangled Flower Medallion Builder stamp set and the colors were inspired by this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge #491 (CTD491).

I started by stamping the pink layer multiple times using Altenew Rouge ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. I had originally intended to create a patterned background but didn’t like what I was seeing so I decided to cut out the images and play with those instead. Before I cut them out using a Brother ScanNCut2, I stamped the fill-in pattern with Altenew Parrot ink. I also stamped one of the small circle stamps from the set in the same green ink.

I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink onto a scrap piece of Recollections kraft cardstock, and then heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder. I trimmed a scrap piece of Neenah Solar white cardstock and adhered it to the back of the sentiment to create a frame and then set it aside.

For the card front, I used a piece of kraft cardstock trimmed to 4″ x 5.25″. I arranged five of the leaf shapes into a pentagon and then used a piece of Post-It Tape to temporarily hold the pieces in together and in place. This allowed me to easily turn all five pieces over at once to add liquid adhesive and then turn them back over to adhere them to the card all at the same time and in the same arrangement. I did the same for the second layer of leaves, except this time I used foam tap for dimension. I also used foam tape to pop up the little green circle in the center of the design and the sentiment strip.

To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Birthday Cards, Feel Good Cards, Just For Fun Cards

Hope Your Day Is Sprinkled With Every Happy Thing!

20180502_220857.jpg

Hi there, I hope your day is going well!

Today’s card uses the Sweet Sprinkles from Concord and 9th, made especially for Essentials by Ellen.Β  I love the large cupcake image and the set also includes an ice cream cone for versatility.

I started by stamping the wide sprinkles stamp multiple times onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.Β  I used a rainbow of Altenew inks: Crimson, Orange Cream, Fresh Lemon, Parrot, Tide Blue, and Deep Iris.Β  Then I trimmed the piece down to 4″ x 5.25″ and set it aside.

I trimmed another piece of cardstock using the second-largest die from the My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set, and stamped the sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx ink.

On a third piece of cardstock, I stamped the cupcake wrapper and the frosting in two Altenew colors: Blush for the wrapper, and Crimson for the frosting.Β  Then I used three Copic markers (RV23, RV25, and RV29) to add some hint of depth and swirl to the frosting.Β  The white sprinkles are stamped in Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink, and enhanced with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen.Β  I cut out the images using a Brother ScanNCut2 (though dies do come with the stamp set) and adhered the wrapper flush to the white background, and popped up the frosting with foam tape.

To finish, I adhered the white background to the rainbow background and then adhered that, in turn, to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks for visiting!
