Hello and welcome! Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Glint & Glimmer Hot Foil Plates, Embossing Folders and Stencils Collection! If you arrived from Svitlana Shayevich’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.
This release includes Altenew’s very first hot foil plates and I’m so excited to have gotten to play with a few! I’ve got three cards to share today, so I’ll get to it…
Thank You
My first card features the new Gilded Rose Hot Foil Plate and coordinating Gilded Rose Layering Stencil Set (also available as a bundle). I love how this big bloom covers a card front!
To recreate this card:
- Use the Gilded Rose Hot Foil Plate to hot foil the large rose onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. I used a Gemini Foilpress machine with Gold Gemini Foilpress Papercraft Foil.
- Position the first layer of the layering stencil set over the foiled rose and use low-tack tape to temporarily hold in place
- Use a large blending tools to blend Sunray ink over the exposed area of the rose
- Repeat the previous two steps with each of the three remaining stencil layers using Snapdragon, Marigold, and Burnt Red inks
- Trim about 3/8″ off both the length and the width of the panel
- Stamp a sentiment (this one is from the Fresh Bloom stamp set) in black pigment ink onto the panel
- Use foam tape to adhere the card front to an A2 card base

Hello
My second card features the new Sunburst Doily Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. To recreate this card:
- Use the Sunburst Doily hot foil plate and Gold Shimmer Gemini Foilpress Papercraft Foil to foil the sunburst image onto a salmon red cardstock (I used Papertrey Ink’s Melon Berry). Repeat to create a second sunburst
- Use the coordinating die to cut out the foiled sunbursts
- Use small blending tools to blend Ruby Red and Vineyard Berry inks in the centers of the starbursts and set aside
- Use the hello die from the Craft Your Life: Seasonal Blooms kit to cut a piece of metallic gold cardstock and cut the shadow layer from the same salmon red cardstock; adhere the two layers together and set aside
- Cut a 3.75″ x 5″ panel of the salmon red cardstock and adhere to a white card base
- Use foam tape to adhere the sunbursts onto the card front; trim off the excess
- Use foam tape to adhere the sentiment

Hello There
My last card features the new Dotty Circles 3D Embossing Folder and a floral image made from the Stunning Starflowers stamp set.
To recreate this card:
- Use large blending tools to blend Dew Drops, Aqualicious, and Teal Cave inks onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock
- Place the panel in the embossing folder and run through a die cut machine using the plate sandwich recommended by the machine’s manufacturer
- Adhere flower and leaves (this flower is stamped in Orange Sorbet, Pastel Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Burnt Red, and Mahogany Bark inks)
- Tuck in white leaves (these are cut from the Stunning Starflowers die set and the Leaf Mix die set)
- Use white embossing powder to emboss a sentiment onto black cardstock (this sentiment is from the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set)
- Use foam tape to adhere the sentiment
- Adhere the card front to a card base
