Hello, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend! Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Sweet Violet layering die set! If you arrived from Virginia Lu’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.
Instead of using purples, I felt like using salmony reds so I went for it!
I started by die cutting the four layers of the petals in four different colors of pink, salmon, and red cardstock. Note that I completely forgot the die cut the small pistil that should go in the very center of the flower; cut in a light color, it adds yet another beautiful layer of dimension!
Next I cut the leaves from two shades of yellow/green cardstock. I assembled and adhered all of the petal and leaf layers together and then set the pieces aside.
For the background, I stamped the Rustic Linen stamp in Morning Frost onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock.
To assemble the card, I adhered the leaves with a combination of glue (at the base of the leaves) and foam tape (at the tips of the leaves) and then adhered the blooms with more foam tape. Then I added a sentiment strip which I made using a stamp from the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.
Thank you so much for visiting! Your next stop is the wonderful Terri Koszler. Be sure to check below for information about the giveaway and for the full blog hop list!
