Hello and welcome! Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Sparkle and Shine Collection! If you arrived from Agnieszka Małyszek’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list!

I have a few cards to share today, including some made with brand new ink colors, so I hope you’ll join me for a bit!

You’re A Star

My first card features the new Stunning Starflowers stamp set and coordinating dies (also available as a bundle). These flowers are so cheerful to me and I love the coordinating leaf dies which cut out leafy shapes with impressed veins.

To recreate this card:

  1. Onto white cardstock, stamp the pink layers of the petals, skipping the first solid layer and using Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubellite, and Razzleberry inks for the four remaining petal layers
  2. Stamp the center stamen layers in Chamomile and Marigold
  3. Die cut the flowers and set aside
  4. Die cut leaves from white cardstock and set aside
  5. Use a die from the Leaf Mix die set to cut the additional delicate leafy pieces (the ones that look like they have little anthers or berries) from white cardstock; set aside
  6. Mask of the borders of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock
  7. Use large blending tools to blend Aqualicious ink at one end of the exposed area and Limeade ink at the other end, letting the colors fade towards the middle and blending them into each other where they overlap
  8. Remove the mask and set the panel aside
  9. Die cut the “star” sentiment once from Dazzling Diamond Glitter cardstock and twice more from heavy white cardstock; adhere the three layers together with the glittery layer on top
  10. Assemble the card by using glue, glue dots, and foam tape to adhere the blooms and leaves; then stamp the small sentiment in black pigment ink and adhere the glittery sentiment
  11. Adhere the card front to a card base

Merry Everything

My second card features the fun new Tree Mix die set. There are so many different tree shapes in this set but I used just my favorite two to create this card:

  1. Die cut the solid trees from three shades of pink/violet cardstocks (I used Party Pink, Fuchsia, and Orchid from The Stamp Market)
  2. Die cut the swirly white trees from white cardstock
  3. Adhere the swirly white trees over the solid trees (it’s hard to see in the photo, but the swirly white trees include a tree trunk)
  4. Use glue and foam tape to adhere the trees to a 3.75″ x 5″ panel of cream cardstock
  5. Use white embossing powder to heat emboss a sentiment to a black cardstock and trim into a sentiment strip (this sentiment is from the Lovely Ornaments stamp set)
  6. Use foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the card front
  7. Use foam tape to adhere the card front to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ white card base

Hello

My third card sets this month’s Build-A-Flower: Honeysuckle bloom against a background made with the new Illusion Diamonds stamp set. This diamond pattern is so pretty!

To recreate this card:

  1. Stamp the layers of the bloom in Buttercream, Warm Sunshine, Snapdragon, and Marigold inks; die cut and set aside
  2. Stamp the layers of the stem and leaf (from the Blooming Tulips stamp and die set) in Bamboo and Grass Field; die cut and set aside
  3. Stamp the Illusion Diamonds background in Arctic Pigment ink onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock; trim 3/8″ inch off both the length and the width of the panel
  4. Use glue and foam tape to adhere the stem, leaf, and bloom to the background; trim off any part of the leaf that hangs off the panel
  5. Stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink
  6. Use foam tape to adhere the card front to a card base

New Ink Colors!

My last cards feature the new ink color sets: Frozen Delights and Jewel Tones. I especially love the Frozen Delights set since many of these colors are perfect for light layers in layering images!

For these cards, I stamped the Solid Foliage stamp in each color onto a small piece of white cardstock and then added a sentiment (both of these are from the Needlework Motif stamp set). Then I used foam tape to adhere the stamped piece to a textured white layer that I created using the Dotted Starburst Debossing Cover Die. To finish, I used more foam tape to adhere the card front to a card base.
