Summertime | Simon Says Stamp Send Happiness Release

Hi there, I hope you’ve had a good week!

The Send Happiness release from Simon Says Stamp is live and it’s a great one!  Today I have a card using the cute new Chillin’ Gnomes stamp set.

I started off by using Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink to stamp the beach gnome and the small cluster of flowers onto Neenah Solar White Classic Crest cardstock.  Using BG11, BG13, BG45, and BG49, and RV23, RV25, and RV29, I colored up his swim trunks, sandals, glasses, hat, and the leaves on the flowers.  For the beach ball and flowers, I used Y13, Y15, Y38, and YR16.  His skin is E11, E13, and E15, and his hair is W1, W3, and W4.  When I finished coloring, I cut out the images and set them aside.

For the background, I used Post-it Tape to mask off the edges of an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and then used foam blending tools to ink blend Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks to blend a gradient background.

Next I used the Summertime die to cut another piece of Neenah Solar White.

To assemble the card, I backed the Summertime die cut with foam tape and adhered it to the background at an angle.  Then I added foam tape to bottom half of the back of the gnome and added it to the background, with his top half overlapping the Summertime die cut.  I used glue to adhere the little bunch of flowers, sliding them slightly behind the gnome.  Finally, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thank you so much for visiting!
