Feel Good Cards, Just Because Cards

Sending Sunshine And Rainbows | Pear Blossom Press and HAI Collaboration Blog Hop + Giveaway

HAI PBP Collab Wide

Thank you for hopping along on the HAI Supply & Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop! If you’ve arrived from Julie Ebersole’s blog, you’re right on track!

I started of my card today by creating this cute vellum rainbow using the Concord & 9th Brighter Days stamp set.  I stamped the four arches of the rainbow in pigment inks one by one, inking and then heat embossing with Hero Arts Ultra Fine clear embossing powder over top.  When I finished all four arches, I fussy cut the rainbow and set it aside.

Next, I used the small cloud die in the Brighter Days die set four times on white cardstock.  I stacked and adhered two clouds together to create a more substantial piece, repeating with the other two clouds.  Then I used tape and glue dots to attach the clouds to the ends of the rainbow.

For the background, I blended Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks over the My Favorite Things Clouds stencil to create a sky full of blue and lavender clouds. Then I stamped the sentiment, from the Brighter Days stamp set, in black pigment ink.

20200619_164236To prep my background for Pear Blossom Press EZ-Lights, I held my rainbow/cloud piece in place and then used a pencil to make small marks where I wanted lights to shine through (behind each cloud and behind the orange arch of the rainbow).  I used a craft pick to punch small holes in the background and then pushed lights just barely through each little hole.  On the back side, I used paper tape to tape down the wires to each light so that they don’t move.  Then I added a whole mess of paper tape to hold down the rest of the wires, finally slipping the battery into the battery casing before taping it down.  I positioned it so that the button on the battery casing sits behind the left cloud.

Next I added a double-layer of foam tape around the borders of the panel and then I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

To finish, I added a little pink heart from the HAI Supply Mix Red Heart Drops mix to indicate where to push.  I also some Mixed Clear Droplets.

I was really impressed by how easy it was to create this light up card.  All I had to was slip in the battery, position the lights, and then hide the extra pre-connected wires!

Thanks so much for visiting!  For more inspiration, your next stop is Lauren Levato. And please be sure to scroll down for the full blog hop list, information about the giveaway, and a discount code for both shops!

  1. Most often you look at these cards and can see just what will light up. Not so here, this was a fun and suprise light card. Love the colors and placements!
