Hi there, and thanks for coming by! Today we’re celebrating the new June My Monthly Hero Card Kit and the June collection from Hero Arts with a blog hop and giveaway. This fun set includes a 6″x6″ background stamp, a 4″ x 6″ stamp set, and a collection of coordinating and stand-alone dies, not to mention embellisments, black watercolor paper, and a glow-in-the-dark lacquer pen!  It’s a great value at $34.99 for $74 worth of product!

MH0620 (1)I started today’s card by using Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide to stamp the background onto an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Then I poured clear Ultra Fine embossing powder over the panel, which stuck to the ink, and hit the panel with a heat gun to melt the powder.

Next, using some small/detail blending brushes, I blended Twisted Citron over the squiggles in the pattern.  Then I added Peacock Feathers above the Twisted Citron and blended the two together a bit.  Finally, I added Blueprint Sketch to fill the rest of the background.  I went back over the panel to add more ink and blend the colors out.

While the panel was drying, I used the lighthouse standalone die set to partially die cut a piece of black cardstock.  Next I used embossing ink and gold embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto the die cut piece.

To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the lighthouse/sentiment strip to the bottom of the background, and then I adhered the cardfront to an A2-sized card base.

Please note that Hero Arts is working on restarting their operations in a safe manner, bringing back their production and shipping teams with social distancing, and keeping their warehouse cleaned under the strictest standards. They are first focusing on all of the orders in-house for all of their wonderful and patient customers, subscribers, and international customers, and hope to get back to regular shipping times once they are through what was delayed. Hero Arts estimates that June kits and add-ons will begin shipping on Friday, June 19, after all previous orders have gone out.

  48. Love the brightness in your sky & it really pops with the black die cuts. I’d love, love, love to win this kit as it represents so much of the area I live in & I know I’d use it over & over again.
