Totally Love You + Instagram Giveaway

I made this background a couple of weeks ago and finally used it today by quickly adding a die cut and a sentiment.  I love it when something out of my “extras” stash finally ends up on a card!

For the background, I started by using low-tack painters tape to mask off the edges of an A2-sized piece of Canson XL watercolor paper.  Then I used three colors of Karin Brushmarker Pro markers to create a gradient.  First I used Turquoise Sea to color the top half inch, or so, of the panel.  Then, using a 1″ flat paintbrush wet with clean clear water, I brushed across the color and blended it out towards the center of the panel.  Next I used Ocean Teal to color over the edge of the damp Turquoise Sea area and colored down another half inch or so, blending with more clean clear water.  Then, starting at the bottom edge, I colored with Lime Green and blended upwards, meeting the Ocean Teal.  I set the panel aside to dry, and when it was just very lightly damp, I placed it between two sheets of typing paper and placed a heavy book on top.  I find this helps flatten out any warping.

Next I used the Altenew Dog Rose Panel A die three times, once out of Neenan Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock and twice out of scrap 110# Recollections cardstock.  I adhered all three layers together, with the Neenah layer on top (because I like its bright white) using a large Nuvo Glue Pen.  I adhered this to the background using liquid glue.

Next I stamped a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp CZ Design Siple Sentiments No. 02 stamp set in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto Neenah Solar white.  I ran the glue pen over the back of the sentiment and adhered it over the die cut.

To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
