Hello crafty friends, there’s a new challenge up on A Blog Named Hero! This month’s theme is Hugs From A Distance.
For this clean and simple card, I used the watercolor block stamping technique. I started by smooshing Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, and Picked Raspberry Distress inks onto a large acrylic block. Then I used a Distress Sprayer to mist the block ten times with clean clear water from about a foot away. I turned the block onto a piece of watercolor paper and then weighed down the block with a few heavy books. Five minutes later, I lifted the block off the paper and dabbed up the excess inky water with a clean paper towel. I set the panel aside to dry.
For the card front, I got out the Window on the Garden Fancy Die and used it to die cut an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Then I used a stamp from the May 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit to stamp the sentiment. The stamp says “sending crafty hugs” but I selectively inked up only the first and last words to create “sending hugs.”
When the watercolor panel was dry, I used foam tape to adhere it and the die-cut panel together. Then I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
Great card
