Hi there, I hope your week got off to a good start!
Today we’re celebrating Altenew’s March 2020 Washi Tapes Release! If you arrived from the Erum’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for the full blog hop list!
For my first two cards, I used washi tapes from the Summer Afternoon, Rose Petal, and Tea Party washi tape sets. East set includes four one-inch wide tapes in an ombre palette. For the card on the left, I used one palette. For the card on the right, I used one color from each of the sets.
For this design, I started by adhering three different color strips of washi tape onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White. Then I die cut the panel using the Framed Thanks die. I also used the die on a scrap piece of Neenah. Using the white die cut as my frame, I pieced in the fallout pieces from the washi die cut piece and added thing paper tape on the backside to hold the pieces together.
Next, I adhered the washi panel to an A2-sized card base and used foam tape to adhere the die cut piece, for a bit of dimension.
For my next set of cards, I used the Painted Dots washi tape to cover two A2-sized panels of Neenah Solar White. Onto one panel, I adhered a Mega Hello die cut, which is actually four die cuts stacked and adhered together. The top layer is ink-blended with Warm Sunshine and Honey Drizzle Crisp Dye inks. Then I adhered a heat embossed word (“friend”) from the Mega Greetings stamp set. For the other card, I die cut hello out of the washi panel and adhered it onto a panel onto which I’d ink-blended a yellow background, using the same two yellow inks. The heat embossed sentiment is from the same stamp set.
For my last card, I covered an A2-sized piece of Neenah with Wild Flora washi tape. This washi tape is an incredible 11.5″ wide and you can also purchase it as a bundle with coordinating dies that cut out images from the washi!
At the edges of the panel, I used foam tape to adhere a frame which I created using the Fine Frames Cover Die. Then I adhered a heat embossed sentiment strip that I created using a stamp from the Needlework Motif stamp set.
