Just A Note | Gina K. Designs

Hi there!

Today I have a quick one-layer card that I shared over on my Instagram feed earlier in the week.  It uses the Just Because stamp set and the Friendship Flower stamp set, both from Gina K. Designs.

I started by using Post-it Tape to mask off the edges of an A2-sized piece of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock.  Then, using foam blending tools, I blended three colors of Distress Oxide inks over the panel: Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, and Tattered Rose.  I let the ink dry while I had a quick snack.

Next, I removed the mask and positioned my card in a Misti stamping tool. Using Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink, I stamped the floral image from the Friendship Flower stamp set (this stamp set was this month’s incentive set, not for individual sale).  I also went ahead and stamped the sentiment, which is from the Just Because stamp set.

Then, I added a bit and depth and detail to the flower.  I smooshed some Ripe Persimmon Oxide ink onto my glass work surface and used a waterbrush pen to pick up some ink.  Using a small flicking motion, I added color towards the inner areas of each petal.  Nothing too fancy 🙂

To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
