Beginning today and running through the February 20, Technique Tuesday is offering free shipping on orders over $25 with discount code TTFriend to celebrate friendships, and I’ve got a card featuring a cute butterfly set that’s in the Friendship and Inspiration collection of stamps and dies.
I began with a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper onto which I scribbled four Karin Brushmarker PRO colors: Magenta Red, Orange Red, Pale Orange, and Blush. I used a Ranger Mini Mister to spritz the paper with clean clear water and then used a paint brush to move and blend the colors just a bit. When the panel was dry, I stamped the three butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and added a bit more shading to their wings. Then, I die cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Next, I stamped two butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies Silhouettes stamp set onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White. I used Altenew Sunray and Sunkist ink. Then, I scribbled the same four markers onto my glass work surface and used a small wet paint brush to splatter ink over the background. I trimmed 1/8″ off each side of the panel before stamping the sentiment in the same black ink I used earlier.
To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the panel to an A2-sized card base and then I adhered the three butterflies with more foam tape.
