Hi there, I hope you’re having a lovely day!
Today I’m sharing a card, and a video clip, that I posted over on Instagram the other day. It features a beautiful floral digital image by Alex Syberia. I’ve never used a digi stamp before but you can bet I will again given all of the gorgeous florals Alex has in her Etsy shop!
I started by printing her Huge Dot Peony image onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. I used a basic HP Officejet printer to print, with HP black ink and I didn’t have any issues with smudging when I colored with Copics.
I started with YR0000 and added some quick shading to the petals. Then I jumped to YR65 and anded some darer shading along the inside and outside edges of the petals. I blended that shading out a bit with YR61, and then again with YR01. I decided that I want to add some even darker shading along the inside of the petals so I added just a smidge of E97 and blended that out a bit with YR65.
For the leaves, I only added a bit of shading to the non-dotted (is that a word?!) halves using W3 and W1. Then I used my Brother ScanNCut2 to cut out the image.
For the background I started with an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White onto which I stamped a sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Greetings Mix 1 stamp set. Then, using a black Copic 0.03 Multiliner pen and a My Sweet Petunia Cut Align ruler, I drew in a fine frame.
To assemble the card I adhered the flower with foam tape and then adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
