Hello there, I hope you’re having a great day!
Today I’m sharing a clean and simple card featuring this sweet Whittle Otter from Poppystamps. If you haven’t seen their Whittle collection of dies, go take a peek. They’re adorable, well-priced, and perfect for a clean and simple card!
I started by die cutting the Whittle Otter four times out of scrap white cardstock. I used Copic E53, E23, and E27 to quickly color in the otter. To create the mottled look to his belly, I added a few drops of Copic Blending Solution (this is what refills a 0 marker) to a small clipping of a nubby rag and held the rag to the otter for a second or two. Then I added a bit of black to his nose and then stacked and adhered all the die cuts together so he’d have a bit of dimension.
The background is an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. I inked up the Linear Waves stamp from Impress Cards and Crafts in Versafine Clair Medieval Blue pigment ink which is a beautiful navy blue. I stamped it three times across the bottom of the card, without reinking between impressions, to give the effect of waves fading off into the distance. Then I stamped the sentiment, from the Whittle Sayings stamp set, in Verafine Clair Nocturne ink.
To assemble the card, I adhered the otter with liquid glue and then adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
