Thank You Cards

Thanks Is Just The Tip Of The Iceberg

Hi there, I hope you’ve had a great day!

Today’s card represents the end of my 365-cards-in-365-days challenge.  It started as a 100-day challenge but then I posted on day 101 and well, who stops at 101?  So tomorrow I will definitely NOT post a card, lest I accidentally start on a 500-day challenge, but I’ll be having a little giveaway over on my Instagram so I hope you’ll please join in!

For this card I stamped the Sketch Lotus Flowers stamp from Simon Says Stamp in Copic-friendly Hero Arts ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.  I did a bit of masking when I inked up the stamp to mask out one of the flowers (I’m not sure it’s actually a flower, does anyone know what that last bud is called?), a stem, and the bottom of the all the stems.  I used a black Copic 0.03 Multiliner to extend the stems to the bottom of the card front, and to connect the two ends of the stem that would have been covered by the bud I masked out.

Using Y0000, Y11, Y05, and Y17, I colored in the blooms.  Lately I’ve been using a very very light color to completely color in flowers, then skipping to the darkest color to add the deep shading, and then moving to the middle colors to blend out the dark color.  I find this saves me time because I never ever go far out enough with my second lightest color and then find that I run out of room for the darkest color, so I end up having to go back in with my middle colors after I could have already been finished.

I used G43 and G46 to loosely color the stems and then I worked on the sentiment.

I used one of the Big Thanks dies to die cut a piece of black 110# Recollections cardstock.  Then I stamped the smaller sentiment, from the Big Thanks Words stamp set, in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto Neenah Solar White.  I trimmed the sentiment into a strip and backed it with foam tape.

To assemble the card, I first adhered the Thanks die cut to the card, and then I adhered the sentiment strip.  Lastly, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for visiting!

  1. Seeka, I didn’t know you were on a challenge. Well done! I don’t know how you found the time, or the inspiration to create a new card every day. Impressive, take a well deserved rest, but I look forward to seeing future creations as inspiration strikes. Best wishes!
