Hi there, I hope you’re having a great weekend!
I decided to stretch a bit and try a technique that I haven’t tried before using a beautiful floral stamp from Simon Says Stamp. The colors didn’t turn out quite like I’d hoped, but it was a fun experiment!
I started with an A2-sized piece of Canson XL Watercolor paper onto which I blended Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. I laid the color down quite heavily and then used a heat gun to help the speed up the drying. It took more heat gun and patience than I expected, but eventually the panel was dry enough (with the help of an anti-static powder bag) not to hold embossing powder all over it.
I used Wow! Embossing Pad and clear Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the largest floral image from Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers 2 set. Then I liberally sprayed the panel with clean clear water and picked up water ink with a paper towel. This lightened the ink everywhere except for where it was trapped under the heat embossing.
While the panel was drying, I used the Big Thanks Words stamp set and the Big Thanks die, both from Simon Says Stamp, to create the sentiment. I die cut the word “thanks” from black Recollections cardstock and I used white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the smaller sentiment onto another strip of carstock. I adhered the die cut flush to the panel and used foam tape to pop up the sentiment. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
