Hi again!
Pardon me while I catch up with blog posts. Even though my holidays were quite mellow, I still find the back-to-back of Christmas, New Years, and my birthday rather hectic. Throw in refinancing and work and card projects and, well… I’m just spent!
When I’m short on time or energy, but still want to make a card, I go to one of my all-time favorite techniques: emboss resist ink blending. Today’s card uses the Flower Explosion background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, and a sentiment from their Tiny Words stamp set.
I used Wow Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the background stamp onto Canson XL Watercolor paper. Then I used foam blending tools to blend Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks onto the panel. I trimmed the panel down to about 3.75″x5″ and set it aside.
I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Claire Nocturne ink five times onto Neenah Solar White. It trimmed each sentiment down and then used foam tape to adhere them to the background. To finish, I adhered the background to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for coming by!
