Hi there, I hope you’re having a beautiful weekend!
I colored this flower yesterday as I was hanging out with a crafty friend and as I was putting together the card this morning, I was thinking about how grateful I am to have found my way to Instagram and to have met so many wonderful crafty friends. So, I paired the flower with a sentiment that expresses how I feel about this amazing crafty community that has welcomed me with such open and loving arms. Thank you so very much!
I stamped the large flower stamp from the Altenew Handpicked Bouquet stamp set, using Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink, onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. I colored the flowers and buds with V000, RV63, RV66, and RV69. For the leaves I used G20, G21, G24, and G28. Rather than using the darkest colors (RV69 and G28) directly, I used the next lightest colors (RV66 and G24) to pick up a bit of the darker colors, thus getting a blend that was in between the two colors in terms of darkness. I did this because the darkest colors just seemed too dark. I die cut the image using the coordinating die and set it aside
For the background, I used the Altenew Pinstripe background stamp and Versafine Clair Morning Mist ink which is a medium gray. I created the frame (which is actually two nested frames) using the Altenew Fine Frames Cover Die. I can safely say that this cover die is the most useful stand-alone die that I purchased in 2018! I adhered the frames to the background using a Zig 2-way Glue Pen and then used foam tape to adhere the flower over it.
I used VersaMark ink and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto black #110 Recollections cardstock. The sentiment is from the Altenew Flower Vine stamp set. Then I adhered the sentiment strip to the card front with foam tape before I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
