Thankful

Hi there, I hope you had a lovely weekend!

I’ve been reflecting on the year and this card was inspired by all that I’m thankful for. At the top of the list are good health and also new crafty friendships that I know will last for years to come.

I started with an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper over which I placed the Simon Says Stamp Leaves stencil.  I used Post-it Tape to temporarily secure the stencil so it wouldn’t move around.

Using an ink blending tool, I gently blended on Altenew Dusk ink.  I laid down more ink towards the stem, and less towards the tips of the leaves for a slight ombre effect.  I then came in with a smaller ink dauber and Altenew Desert Night ink to add an even darker color to the stem and the bases of the leaves.

I die cut the sentiment and its shadow layer from Bristol smooth using the Simon Says Stamp Thankful 1 die set.  I used the ink dauber to ink the shadow layer with Desert Night and then I adhered the white sentiment to it.

To finish the card, I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the card front and then I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
