Hi there, I hope your day is going well!
I’m embracing the quiet here and playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge. This challenge’s theme is “Something New” which could be anything from new home or new baby, to new technique or new product. Today I’ve chosen a new-to-me background stamp and die, and some colors that I don’t usually play with.
I started by using Wow Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the Simon Says Stamp Flora Background onto an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock.
Then I used Ranger foam blending tools and also finger daubers to blend Catherine Pooler inks over the panel, starting with Mint To Be in the center, Aquatini around that, and finishing with All That Jazz at the corners. When I finished blending, I misted a paper towel with clean clear water to just very lightly dampen it, and then I gently rubbed over the embossing to remove the ink that was sitting on top of it.
I used the Simon Says Stamp Thanks die to cut the sentiment out of black 110# Recollections cardstock, and the shadow layer out of 80# Neenah Solar White. For the smaller sentiment, from the Thanks Words stamp set, I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp on a Neenah Solar White. I backed both sentiments in foam tape and adhered them to the background which I then adhered to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
