Hello, I hope you had a great week!
This card features a sweet penguin family and my first attempt at using any sort of paste. I wish the sparkle of the snow was more visible in the photo. In real life it’s so striking!
I started by placing the Alexandra Renke Falling Snow stencil over an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Using a plastic palette knife, I smoothed Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste over the stencil and onto the cardstock. I removed the stencil from the paper and immediately took it and the knife to the sink to wash them clean.
While the background was drying, I stamped penguins from Elizabeth Craft Designs’ Penguin stamp set in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto scraps of Neenah Solar White. I colored them with C1, C2, C5, C7, and C9, and a bit of Y19 for their beaks. For mama penguin’s accessories, I used B60, BV01, BV02, BV13, and BV04. I die cut them out and backed mama with foam tape and adhered her to the background. I used glue to adhere a couple of the penguins flush to the background, and then used foam tape to adhere the others in the foreground. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
