Hello there!
Last year when I started making cards I went a little overboard and bought a ton of holiday-themed stamp sets. But then the holidays didn’t go as planned so I never made any holiday cards. This year I’ve been trying to work through my holidays stash and so today I’ve combined a few snowflake sets that have been patiently waiting to have their turn.
I started with an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock onto which I blended Broken China Distress Ink. Then, using Catherine Pooler It’s A Boy and Fiesta Blue inks, I stamped snowflakes from Avery Elle’s Snowflakes stamp set. The sentiment is also from that set, stamped in Fiesta Blue.
I die cut the snowflakes from Neenah Solar White using the My Favorite Things Let It Snowflake Too die set. I took a VersaMark ink pad directly to the snowflakes to get them nice and sticky before I poured Hero Arts White Satin Pearl embossing powder over them and hit them with a heat gun. This embossing powder is beautiful and smooth, the snowflakes look like they are actually made of pearl! I did experiment with inking the snowflakes in blue first and even on those snowflakes (which I didn’t end up using), the embossing powder is beautiful and lets the blue come through.
I adhered each of the snowflakes with a single small Zots Bling adhesive dot behind the center of the snowflake so that the arms of the could stand up away from the card a bit. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A-2 sized card base.
Thank you for coming by!
