Hello and happy mid-week! For today, I colored a pretty floral from Simon Says Stamp and practiced leaving a lot of white space which I thought would be nice for these lotuses.
I started by stamping the large group of flowers from the Sketch Floral stamp set in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. There was one flower in the image that I didn’t want to color so I held a piece of scratch paper over it while I was inking the stamp. The gap left by the scratch paper was right where the bend is in the stem for the flower on the far right. I connected the two ends of the stem using an 0.03 Copic Multiliner black pen. You can see the original stamp image here.
I wanted the flowers to be mostly white so I used BV000, BV01, and BV04 to color the tips of the petals, starting with the lightest color and ending with the darkest. Then I added some N1 and N2 at the bottom of the petals, just to add a bit of depth to the white. Then I used YG61 and G24 to color the stems.
I used the Simon Says Stamp Script Die set to die cut the sentiment out of black Recollections cardstock, and its shadow layer out of Neenah Solar White. I adhered it to the card front and then, to finish the card, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for coming by!
