Hi there, happy almost Friday!
Today’s card puts to use some sweet standalone dies from Paper Smooches and My Favorite Things.
I started by creating the paper that I used for the doves which use the Dove die from Paper Smooches. I smooshed Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks onto an acrylic block, sprayed the block 10 times with a Distress Sprayer, and then turned the block onto watercolor paper. I let it sit for 5 minutes, weighed down beneath a heavy book, and then removed it and let the panel dry. When it was dry, I die cut three doves and set them aside.
I used the My Favorite Things Peace die to die cut a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock that I’d inked up with the same three Distress Ink colors. Then die cut the sentiment three more times out of heavy scrap cardstock and stacked and adhered all the letters together.
For the background, I splattered some black and violet gouache onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White. I adhered the letters with glue and then used foam tape to pop up and adhere the solid dove. I did swap the double-cut outline of the dove with one of the other dove die cuts so there would be some variation between the two. I also adhered the two other double-cut outlines and then trimmed the parts that hung over the edge of the card.
To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks for coming by!
