Hi there, happy day-before-Friday, I hope you’re having a great week! Isn’t it weird how a short work week can feel really long sometimes? I’m already ready for the weekend 🙂
Today I’m sharing a card using a layering stamp set from Altenew. I’ve only used layering stamps a few times and I have to say, the results with Altenew stamps are absolutely amazing!
This card uses the Beautiful Day stamp set and a sentiment from the Crafty Life stamp set, also from Altenew. I stamped the flower onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock three times using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink for the first layer, and Altenew Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, and Ruby Red inks for the next three layers.
For the leaves, I used the same black ink for the first layer, and then for three sets of leaves I used Altenew Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades inks, and for three other sets, I used a slightly darker combination of Forest Glades and Evergreen. Then I used a ScanNCut2 to cut out all of the images.
On an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. To create a bit of splatter, I smooshed Shabby Shutters Distress ink onto my work surface, added a bit of clean clear water, and then used a paintbrush to flick the ink onto the card.
Then I got out some liquid glue and started gluing leaves around the perimeter of the card. I trimmed off the parts of the leaves that were hanging off the card front and set aside some of the larger pieces. I adhered the bottom left flower flush to the card and then used foam tape to pop up the remaining two flowers. I trimmed them as well and kept one of the larger pieces which I adhered, with foam tape, to the top right of the card.
I tucked in the small leaf parts that I’d saved into some of the open areas around the sentiment and adhered them with glue. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
One of my favorite stamp sets. You made a gorgeous card with it. Thank you.
