Hello there!

Time is really flying.  I’ve barely had a chance to play with the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit for August and the September kit is almost on the way!  So, I thought I’d pull out the August kit again and enjoy a cuppa.

I started by heat embossing the Hero Arts Wallpaper Pattern background stamp, using VersaMark ink and white Hero Arts embossing powder, onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock.  Then I used foam blending tools to blend a trio of fall-inspired colors onto the background.  I used Fired Brick, Ripe Persimmon, and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide inks.

I stamped the coffee cups in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto Neenah Solar White.  Then I did some very simple coloring using R08, R05, and R02 for the cups, W1 and W3 for the saucers, and E35 and E37 for the coffee.  I used Hero Arts White Puff embossing powder to heat emboss the foam swirls and then cut out the cups using a Brother ScanNCut2.  I would have used the coordinating dies but I thought the puffy embossing might get flattened when I ran it through my die cutting machine.

To create a white frame out of Neenah Solar White, I used the two largest dies from the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangles die set and ran them together through my die cutting machine.

I heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of kraft Recollections cardstock and adhered it to the back of the frame. Then I trimmed the background down to the size of the frame and adhered them together using foam tape.  I put a few small pieces of foam tape behind the sentiment strip to give it additional support.

I adhered the upper coffee cup flush to the background and used foam tape to adhere the second coffee cup.  To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for coming by!
