Hi there, I hope your day is going well and that you’ve had time to treat yourself to a nice cuppa! Coffee or tea, which do you prefer?
Today I’m sharing a coffee-themed card using the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero card kit for August. I just love sharing a cuppa with a friend and this past weekend I got to do just that when I visited Utah and got to spend time with my BFF from grade school.
I started by stamping the Hero Arts Wallpaper Pattern background stamp in Altenew Sand Dunes ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock. Then I trimmed it down to 4″ x 5.25″ and set it aside. When I use background stamps, I always lay them face up on my work surface and ink them up. Then I place my paper down onto the stamp, cover it with a piece of typing paper, and rub over the entire thing.
I stamped the coffee cups and their sentiments in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto scrap pieces of Neenah. I used E50 and E53 to add some shadows to the cups and I used W2 and W3 to add shadows to their bases and rims.
Then I used the whipped cream die to die cut two swirls of cream out of the same cardstock. I “colored” over them with a Marvy Uchida Snow Marker which, when hit with a heat gun, puffs up. I let the marker dry (which is recommended before you heat it), and then aimed my heat gun at it and watched it puff. Then I adhered the whipped cream to the coffee cups and backed both with foam tape.
I trimmed background to an A2-sized piece of kraft Recollections cardstock and positioned the cups so I could get an idea of where to stamp the main sentiment, which I stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturn ink. Then I stuck on the cups and adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base to finish.
Thanks so much for coming by!
