Hi there, I hope you had a fantastic weekend!
Today’ I’m practicing one-layer florals again, this time using the beautiful Kind Soul set from WPlus9.
As usual, I started with an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock onto which I stamped the large spray of flowers in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black Ink.
For the flowers, I used BV00, BV02, BV04, and BV08. What I learned this time around is that if you get lazy and leave your Copic caps off as you switch between colors, the pigment in the marker tip gets a little concentrated (I assume because some alcohol has evaporated) and you end up putting down a sticky bit of darker color than you expect is in the marker. This is what happened to the two trumpet-shaped flowers near the center of the card. Lesson learned!
For the leaves, I used YG61, YG63, and YG67.
I drew in a frame with a ruler and pencil and then spaced my sentiment along the frame. I used a Misti stamping tool to stamp the sentiment in Versamark Onyx Black ink and then I used a 01 (0.25mm) black Sakura Pigma Micron pen to go over the pencil lines. I really like how this technique helps ground the flowers and I’m sure I’ll use it again and again, as I already have this week!
To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
