Love Cards, Wedding Cards

Forever & Always

Hi there, I hope your weekend is getting off to a nice start!

I’m still in a flower groove and so today I’m revisiting the gorgeous Lovely Blooms stamp set from Studio Katia.  I’ve paired it here with a sentiment from the Floral Bliss stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.I started by stamping the large spray of flowers in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black Ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock.

20180803_232627Then, I chose some soft Copic colors and got down to coloring.  I used YR000, YR00, and YR02 for the peach-y flowers, and Y32, Y35, and Y38 for the orange flowers.  I kept the leaves soft and muted with G20, G21, and G24.

I don’t know about you, but I sometimes spend as much time figuring out how and where to add the sentiment.  I played around with the idea of heat embossing it in gold on a thin piece of white cardstock, and then popping it up with foam tape over part of the flowers.  And I thought about just stamping it directly over the flowers.  In the end, I decided that I wanted to stamp it just below the flowers but it felt a little floaty.

So, I used a ruler and lightly drew in a frame in pencil.  Then, I erased the area of the line where I wanted to stamp, using the rest of the line as a guide for vertically centering the sentiment. I then used a Misty stamping tool to stamp the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Then I held my breath and used the ruler and penciled lines as a guide to draw the frame in ink.  I used a 01 (0.25mm) black Sakura Pigma Micron pen which gives a nice fine line and then added a small dot in each of the corners.

To finish, I adhered the card to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for visiting!
