Hi there, I hope you’re having a wonderful day!
Today I’m revisiting one of my favorite butterfly stamps. It’s from the Butterfly Beauty stamp set from Concord and 9th.
This stamp set is a layering set but I only used the base layer which I stamped in Altenew Evening Gray ink onto a piece of Canson XL Watercolor paper. Then, using a couple of Pentel Aquash waterbrush pens, I used clean clear water to wet only the butterfly before I used Mijello Mission Gold watercolors to paint it. I used Permanente Red and Yellow Orange for the wings, and Sepia for the body. I’m not very skilled with watercolors which is why I love that the stamped image of the butterfly has a lot of simple detail to it.
When the panel was dry, I trimmed it down using the largest die from the My Favorit Things Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set and then adhered it to an A2-sized card base with foam tape, for a bit of dimension.
Thanks so much for coming by!
