Hi there! I’m late with today’s post because I’m still recovering from an amazing day at Kathy Racoosin’s The Coloring Challenge Roadtrip event at Hero Arts yesterday. It was an amazing seven-hour day of meeting and chatting with many lovely crafty new friends.
Today’s card uses the single panel that I finished coloring in those seven hours (did I mention the chatting?). It features the Altenew Sweet Peas stamp set, and a sentiment from Altenew’s Crafty Life stamp set.
I started by hand-stamping several sweet peas images in Gina K. Designs Amalgam blank ink. This was my first time using this ink and I was pleased with how juicy and black the ink is. I found that I was able to confidently stamp with an acrylic block a single time to get a crisp deep black image, which is not always the case when I try to hand-stamp with other Copic-friendly inks.
I then used V01, V04, V06, and BV08 to color the petals, and YG21, YG23, and YG17 for the base of the flowers.
When I got home from the event, I heat embossed the sentiment onto black Recollections cardstock using Hero Arts white embossing powder. Then I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the card front. To finish the card, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
