Sending A Summer Hello

Happy Friday!  I hope your week went well and that you have a nice weekend ahead.  I’m super excited for the weekend because I get to go to Kathy Racoosin’s Coloring Challenge Roadtrip at Event at Hero Arts tomorrow!

For today’s card I dug through my stash looking for some quick images to color and I came across one of my favorite summer-themed sets, the Sea You Soon stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

I started by stamping two bikini images randomly onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock using Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink.  Then I did some very basic no-blend coloring starting with my lightest color, BG11, at the top of the card, BG15 in the middle, and my darkest color, BG49, at the bottom of the card.  I used the same colors to make a random pattern of dots to fill in the white space, again going from light to dark as I moved down the card.

I then used the Bikini die to cut out a string bikini out of the same cardstock.  I used the same three Copic colors to color the bikini, this time doing some blending of colors, from light to dark.  I also added Wink of Stella for a bit of shimmer.

I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink onto a piece of vellum. Then I poured gold Ranger Super Fine embossing powder over it and hit it with a heat gun.  I added a few very small dots of liquid adhesive behind some of the letters and adhered it to the background.  I also added liquid adhesive to the backs of the bikini top and bottom and then adhered those halfway over the vellum panel and to the background, to help anchor the vellum piece.  To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for visiting!
