Hi there, I hope your week is going well!
Today’s card is a quick and easy one using the Solar Burst stencil from Simon Says Stamp and the Happy Birthday die from WPlus9.
I used a technique that I’ve seen many times but haven’t tried myself until now which is dry embossing using a stencil. I used a foam blending tool to add Wild Honey Distress ink onto the stencil in an even layer. Then I used another blending tool do randomly add Picked Rasberry Distress ink to some parts of the stencil. Very carefully, I placed the stencil, inky side down, onto a piece of A2-sized Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.
I used a Big Shot to do the embossing, using tab 1 of the platform and then building my “sandwich” from the bottom up: cutting plate, metal shim, embossing pad, paper (with the stencil on top), and cutting plate. I ran it through the machine and then carefully pulled away the stencil so that I wouldn’t get any ink smudges. The result is an inked embossed pattern.
I die cut the sentiments out of scrap cardstock three times and adhered the layers together to create dimensional die cuts. I inked the top layer with Abandoned Coral distress ink and then adhered them to the card front. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks for visiting!
Looks stunning! Ink embossing is so fun, right?
