Today’s card features two stamp sets from WPlus9: Flock Yeah and Fierce and Fabulous. I love this sentiment and think it’s a great reminder that even when no one’s looking, or we don’t have much to show for it at the end of the day, we’re each fierce, fabulous, and amazing in our own way on a daily basis.
I started by stamping the flamingo, palm trees, and flower onto Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink and got down to coloring. I used R30, R20, and R22 for the flamingo’s feathers, and R81 for its legs, underbelly, and part of its beak.
The flower is a blend of Y13, Y35, YR18, and R24, with YG21, YG23, and YG17 for the leaves. I used this same trio of yellow-greens for the palm fronds and then used E31 and E35 for the trunks.
I cut out the images using a Brother ScanNCut2 and then used a Xacto knife to cut out the small area between the two palm tree trunks which the ScanNCut2 missed. I adhered the flower to the flamingo’s hair and then backed everything with foam tape.
For the background, I used an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth. I used a foam blending tool and the My Favorite Things Cloud stencil to create layers of yellow clouds in Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. Then I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adhered the images and then glued the card front to an A2-sized card base to finish the card.
