Animal Cards, Just Because Cards

More Coffee, Please.

Hi there and happy Monday!

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done a Monday coffee card, but I’ve got a long week ahead so I thought I’d start it off with this sweet bunny from Honey Bee Stamps.  The bunny comes from the Blah Humbunny stamp set, the mug from the Blah Bunny stamp set, and the sentiment from the Blah Blah Blah stamp set.  The background is My Favorite Things’ Whimsical  Waves background stamp.

Picture of Copic Markers usedI started by stamping the bunny and mug in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock.  I’m not very skilled at coloring so I took my time with this little guy.  I started with the lightest brown, E31, and colored the entire bunny except for his nose and foot pads.  Then I gradually added darker colors (E35, E37, and E57) where I thought the shadows would be, and then went back in with the next lightest color to blend. When the bunny’s brown fur was done, I added R30 to his nose and foot pads and used a black Sakura Glaze pen to add just the tiniest touch of shine and dimension to his eyes.

Then I colored in the coffee mug using B32 and B34 for the mug, and E37 and E57 for the coffee. I cut out the bunny and the mug using a Brother ScanNCut2 and set them aside.

I stamped the background image using Altenew Morning Frost ink onto an A2-sized piece of the same cardstock.  I chose this background for its woozy look since that’s exactly how I feel on Monday mornings before my coffee kicks in!  Then, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx ink.

I added foam tape to the backs of the bunny and mug and adhered them to the background.  To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. I love this card! I like the background design you chose. I feel like it matches my mood perfectly when I haven’t had my coffee yet lol
