Hi there, I hope your day is going well! For me, the weekend can’t get here quickly enough. What about you?
I’m still hanging in there on Day 8 of The Daily Marker’s 30-day Coloring Challenge. I’m a newbie to coloring so it’s been great practice to try to color something every day.
Today’s card features the Here’s the Scoop stamp set from Concord and 9th. I thought these big scoops of ice cream would very satisfying to color and I was right!
I started by stamping the large sentiment and the bowl of ice cream in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock. I also stamped the banner and the smaller sentiment onto a scrap piece of cardstock. I fussy cut the banner and set it aside.
Then I started coloring. I used trios of colors in each color family for each of the scoops. I didn’t have a green light enough for a lot of contrast so I ended up using the 0 colorless blender to push out the color and lighten the center of the green scoop.
I used two reds for the cherry, and three grays for the bowl. On the bowl, I added a bit of the darkest gray only to the outside areas of every other section to emphasize the stripes.
Then, using foam tape for dimension, I adhered the banner to the bowl. To finish, I used Tombow Mono liquid glue to adhere the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks for visiting!
Very nice! Love the shading and the vibrant colors! 😊

Thanks so much!!! It’s hard to keep up with the coloring challenge, isn’t it? I did do some coloring for day 9 but I didn’t like the result and ended up posting another card instead. But, I got my crafty coloring time in 🙂 I think I found you on Instagram so I’ll follow you there!
