Hi there!
Today’s card features the Pineapple Perfection stamp set from Concord and 9th. I’ve had my eye on this stamp set for a while, but have never bitten the bullet and purchased it. But, a fellow cardmaker had it in her stash and she was kind enough to stamp it for me to bring home to color. Crafty friends are the best, aren’t they?
This was my first experiment with colored pencils and I’m really pleased with how it turned out! I had intended to add a sentiment, but I didn’t want to color up any of my hard work ;p
The pineapple is stamped with Ink On 3’s Fadeout Ink onto a piece of white cardstock (I believe my friend also uses Neenan Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock). I used a collection of Prismacolor pencils and took my time adding layers of color and trying my best to shade in the right areas. I’m not a very experienced colorer, and I’ve never layered or shaded with colored pencils before, so this was truly an experiment. I found the pencils to be very easy to use and I appreciated how much control I had with a small sharp point compared to the larger strokes of a Copic marker.
Once I finished coloring, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
I used colors from the Prismacolor 120 pencil set and I’ve listed them below in case it’s helpful.
Thanks for visiting!
