Hello and welcome! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the holiday-themed October release with a blog hop full of inspiration and a giveaway. If you’ve arrived from visiting Pocono Pam, you’re right on track!
Winter has come, direct from the North Pole! The October My Monthly Kit features a beautiful 6” x 8” stamp set with everything you need to build a magical scene, right down to Santa’s sleigh. The coordinating dies cut out everything in the stamp set, including the messages. There’s a cling background stamp for adding falling snow, and two types of white ink are included to allow you to experiment with different techniques! The kit is rounded out with some gorgeous papers.

For my card today, I began with a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Lapis cardstock. Using a blending brush, I blended Deep Ocean ink around the top and sides of the panel to deepen the blue color. I treated the panel with an anti-static powder tool and then used Clear Embossing & Watermark ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss the background stamp pattern onto the panel.
Next, I stamped the village image in Intens-ified Black Ink onto a panel of white cardstock. I used the coordinating die and a partial die-cutting technique to cut away just the top part of the panel, above the village. I glued the village and the white area beneath it (the snow) to the blue background panel.
I stamped the tree, the two children, and the sentiment in the same black ink and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Next, I used foam tape to adhere all three to the background. To finish, I used markers to color in the windows and the tree ornaments and then I glued the card front to a card base.

My second card features the new Holiday Pattern stencil paired with a large Happy Holidays sentiment (and coordinating die) and a small sentiment from the new Holiday Sentiment Strips stamp set (and coordinating die).
I used blending brushes to blend Pale Tomato, Papaya, Dandelion, Fresh Lawn, and Indigo Core Inks over the stencil and onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. I trimmed 3/8″ off both the length and width of the panel and then used foam tape to adhere it to a card base.
Next, I ombre-stamped the large sentiment in blue and aqua inks and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I stamped the smaller sentiment in black ink and then used the coordinating die to cut it out (this new set stamps and cuts almost 20 sentiments at one time!).
To finish, I used foam tape to adhere both sentiments to the card front.
Thank you so much for visiting! Your next stop is the lovely Jennifer Kotas! Be sure to read below for giveaway details.

I like how you added lights to the village scene. The second card, the colors you used, makes it seem like a transitional card going from fall to winter. Very unique!
