Hello and welcome! Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Enchanted Winter Collection! If you arrived from Virginia Lu’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.
I have two cards to share today and both feature layering stencils sets. Layering stencils are a great way to color stamped images, or to use on their own or with an embossing folder as I have here.
For You
Altenew supplies:
- Blooming Flower Bed Stencil Set (New!)
- Fancy For You Die
- Chamomile, Snapdragon, Marigold Crisp Dye Inks for yellow flowers (bundle)
- Puffy Heart, Purple Wine inks for fuchsia flowers
- Pink Pearl inks for peachy pink flowers
- Lime, Bamboo inks for leaves
- Dew Drops for blue dots
For this card I used small blending tools to blend inks over the stencils to create the bed of flowers. I trimmed the panel to about 4″ x 5.25″ and used foam tape to adhere it to a card base. Then, I cut the sentiment die twice, once from a dark pink cardstock and once from white cardstock. I glued the two pieces together, slightly offset, and then finished the card by gluing the sentiment to card front.

Thanks
Altenew supplies:
- Tulip Simple Stencil & Embossing Folder Bundle (New!)
- Craft-Your-Life: Seasonal Blooms (sentiment)
- Fresh Lemon, Snapdragon, Lime Crisp Dye Inks
I started this card by using the embossing folder to emboss a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. Then I used small blending tools to blend inks over the stencils onto the embossed pattern. Next, I used Copic markers to add a bit more shading to the stems and to the bases of each tulip. I trimmed the panel down to 4″ x 5.25″ and then used foam tape to adhere it to a light gray cardbase. To finish, I added a die-cut stamped sentiment.
