The new Simon Says Stamp Let’s Chill release is here and my card features the new Delightful Dragonflies Hot Foil Plates and Dies set. There are four dragonflies in this cute set and I love how they sparkle!
I started off by creating a paint-blended panel from which to cut the dragonflies. I added a few drops of Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar, and Scattered Straw Distress Paints to a Tonic Easy Clean non-stick craft mat. I spritzed with water and then dragged a panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock through the wet paint, letting the colors blend together. When the panel was dry, I used the hot foil die and gold foil to foil the dragonflies onto the panel. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and then set them aside.
Next, I cut the Swoopy Thank You sentiment from the same painted panel and then glued it to the shadow layer which I cut from white cardstock. I also cut a few Etched Delicate Fronds from white cardstock.
To assemble the card, I glued the base of the fronds to a 4″ x 5.25″ panel of white cardstock. I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment over the base of the fronds and then used more foam tape to adhere two dragonflies. Then, I popped up the card front onto a panel of Gina K. Designs’ Barely There cardstock. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.
