Celebration Cards, Congratulations Cards, Wedding Cards

Bada Bing! | Simon Says Stamp Yay You Release Blog Hop Day 2 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome, I hope you’re having a good week!

I’m so happy to be part of day two of the Simon Says Stamp Yay You release blog hop, and I’m very glad you’re here! If you’ve arrived from Sandi MacIver’s blog, you’re right on track.

I have two cards to share today so I’ll dive right in!

Bada Bing! Congratulations!

My first card features the Arched Greens cling stamp, Bell dies, and the CZ Design Yay You stamp set.

I started off by removing the pop-out element of the cling stamp and positioning the remaining frame of the stamp in a Misti stamping tool over a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. I inked up a little more than the top third of the stamp in Grapefruit ink and then dabbed at the edge of the ink line with a clean rag to soften the line. I stamped down and then repeated, this time inking up the middle of the stamp with Watermelon ink. I softed both ink lines before stamping down and then repeated again, this time with Taffy ink at the bottom third of the stamp. Softening the lines helps to create a smooth transition where the colors overlap.

Next, I die cut the bell pieces twice from Tonic Honey Gold Mirror Satin Effect cardstock and then glued the pieces together to create two bells. I used several colors of thread to tie the bells together.

I then stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink at the bottom of an arched panel of white cardstock that I cut using a die from the Nested Domed Arches die set. I stamped a smaller sentiment onto a strip and used foam tape to adhere that beneath the large sentiment.

To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment piece to the center of the background and then used a bit more foam tape to adhere the bells. To finish, I glued the card front to a card base.

Yay You On This Special Day

My second card features the Arches stencil, CZ Design Yay You Words die, and a small sentiment from the Wedding sentiment strips.

To create the background, I used Post-it Tape to temporarily hold the stencil over a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. Then I used foam blending tools to blend Salvaged Patina, Shaded Lilac, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks over the stencil.

Next, I created the sentiment by cutting the detail layer three times from white cardstock. I inked up one piece with Wilted Violet and then stacked and glued the three pieces together. I glued the combined piece to the shadow layer, cut from white cardstock, and then I used foam tape to adhere the piece to the background. I added cut a small sentiment from the Wedding sentiment strips and glued it directly to the Yay You sentiment. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

Thank you so much for visiting! I’m the last stop in the hop today, so if you want to start from the top, head over to the Simon Says Stamp Blog!
