Celebration Cards, Congratulations Cards

Yay You | Simon Says Stamp Yay You Release

Hello, I hope you’re having a good week!

The new Simon Says Stamp Yay You release is here and two of my favorites from the release are the Sketched Leaf Wreath Hot Foil and Die set and the CZ Design Yay You Words die. This wreath will come in handy for the holidays, too; just switch up the colors!

I started off by using foam blending tools to blend Cracked Pistachio, Salvaged Patina, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks onto a 4.25″ x 4.25″ panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock. When the panel was dry, I used Gemini Aurora papercrafting foil (Spellbinders Prism foil is a great alternative) to foil the wreath onto the panel. I used the coordinating die to cut out the wreath and then set it aside.

Next, I used the Yay You Words die to cut the detail sentiment five or six times from white cardstock. I blended Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks onto one of the die cuts and then stacked and adhered it to one of the extra die cuts. I glued the piece to the shadow layer, which I cut from vellum, and then I stacked and adhered the remaining detail die cuts together, trimmed part of the first “y” away, and adhered the piece underneath the vellum (this provides a surface to glue to the background without worrying about glue showing through the vellum, and the trimmed away part leaves room for the popped up wreath).

For the background, I cut an arch using the older Nested Domed Arches die set and then glued it to a 4″ x 5.25″ panel that I’d added texture to using the Detail Tapestry Plate.

To assemble the card, I cut the wreath and then used foam tape to adhere the two pieces to opposite sides of the background. Then I glued the sentiment on and finished with a few clear bubble embellishments before gluing the card front to a card base.
