Hello there, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!
Today I’m sharing a one-layer watercolor card featuring the beautiful tulips in the Mother’s Day Tulips stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.
I started off by stamping the large floral image in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto a piece of Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper. Next, I painted with Altenew Artists’ Watercolor set, using a bright pink and a warm orange-y yellow for the petals and a yellow green and darker green for the stems. Rather than going for a very smooth blended look, I worked in just a couple of easy layers and added dots of color as I went for a looser look.
When the panel was dry, I trimmed the panel to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and then stamped a sentiment, from the Healing Hugs stamp set in the same black pigment ink. To help the sentiment stand out against the tulips, I used a white gel pen to outline the letters that overlap the floral image. To finish, I glued the card front to a card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
