Hello and welcome! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the beautiful new April release with a blog hop full of inspiration and a giveaway. If you’ve arrived from visiting Pocono Pam, you’re right on track!
The fun and floral April kit is a celebration of spring as well as the amazing people in all of our lives. It features a gorgeous cling background with bees and flowers. Three layering stencils make the coloring process easy. Combine the “amazing” word die with the mix and match messages in the stamp set for expressing thanks, celebrating birthdays, sending Mother’s Day greetings and more. Also included are dies for highlighting select images from the background, and the kit is rounded out with enamel embellishments which complement the ink colors perfectly.

You Are Amazing
I started off my first card today by using the three layering stencils to create a background. I did not pair the stencils with the background stamp so I started by positioning the first layer (the one with the large bloom openings) over a piece of white cardstock. Using blending brushes, I blended Lemon Drop Reactive ink over the stencil. After cleaning the stencil, I replaced it over cardstock and took a second pass, this time blending Creamsicle Reactive ink just around the edges of the large blooms, and a bit over the smaller blooms.
Next, I placed the second layer of the stencil and used a foam blending tool to tamp Unicorn pigment ink over the openings in stencil. And when the background was dry, I placed the third and last stencil and blended a combination of Key Lime Fizz and Green Apple Reactive inks through the stencil. I then used a green Copic marker to draw stems to connect some of the unconnected leaves and flowers (had I used the background stamp, I could have skipped this step).
For the sentiment, I cut the both the detail and shadow layers from white cardstock and then blended the same yellow and orange inks onto the detail layer to create a gradient. I adhered the sentiment to the shadow layer and then used foam tape to adhere it, along with a smaller sentiment, to the background. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

My second card features the Looking Glass Swan Family die set. I used each of the dies to cut white cardstock and then used Copic markers to color the swans’ beaks, the water, and the cattail plants. I used foam tape to adhere the layers together and then I glued them to a small piece of white cardstock that I’d colored with pink and coral markers. Next, I glued a frame I made using the Looking Glass Ornate Frame die over the little scene. To finish, I adhered the framed scene to a card base and stamped a sentiment from the Wherever You Go stamp set.
Thank you so much for visiting! Your next stop is the lovely Meg Brooks! Be sure to read below for giveaway details.
