Hello, I hope your week is off to a good start! Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Magnolia layering die set! I started off by die cutting the petal layers out of five different shades of cardstock, starting from a medium pink base and ending with a white top layer. Then I cut the two layers of the center of the flower from a bright dark pink and a golden yellow. I cut the leaves from two shades of green and then I layered and adhered all of the pieces together.

For the background, I used Frosty Pink Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray to spritz one corner of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. Then I dipped a small paintbrush into Jet Black Ink Spray and created some light black splatters over the pink, concentrating the splatter at the same corner as the pink spray.

Next, I used the Simple Shapes Cover Die to die cut three panels of white cardstock. I stacked and adhered the three layers together and then adhered the piece to the pink sprayed background. I glued the leaves to the background and then used foam tape to adhere the magnolia. To finish, I added a heat embossed sentiment (made with the Needlework Motif stamp set) and then adhered the card front to a card base.
