Hello and welcome! The new Simon Stamp And Back Again release is live and I got to play with the new Hand-lettered Friends background stamp. I love this font and it happened to pair perfectly with the older Big Friend die set which is one of my absolute favorite sentiment dies.

To create this quick and easy card, I positioned the background stamp in a Misti stamping tool over a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. I inked up the top third of the stamp with Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Saturated Peachy ink and then used a clean rag to dab at and soften the edge of the inked area. I stamped down and then inked up the middle of the stamp with Cheeky ink, this time softening both the top and bottom edges of the inked up area so they wouldn’t create a harsh line of color. I stamped down and then finished by using Bubblegum ink to ink up and stamp the bottom of the background. I trimmed 3/8″ off the length and the width of the panel and set it aside.
Next, I created the sentiment by die cutting the detail friend sentiment from Doll Pink cardstock three times and twice from white cardstock. I cut the shadow layer from vellum and then adhered the three pink layers together and onto the shadow layer. Then I adhered the two white layers together and glued them underneath the vellum layer. This is an easy way to add hidden dimension beneath intricate sentiments that have vellum shadow layers.
To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the background to a card base and then I glued the sentiment to the bottom of the card front. I also adhered a small stamped sentiment which uses a stamp from the Tiny Words stamp set.
Thank you so much for visiting!
