Just Because Cards, Thank You Cards

Hello | Altenew Plentiful Patterns Stand-alone Dies/Stencils Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome, I hope you’re having a good day!

Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Plentiful Patterns Stand-alone Dies/Stencils Collection! If you arrived from Maryam Perez‘s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.

I have three cards to share today so grab a cuppa and let’s get to it!

Hello – String Panel Cover Die

My first card features the new String Panel Cover die. This fun pattern would be great to weave flowers and leaves into, or to hang a little cat off of, but I kept it bold and graphic with this card by pairing the cover panel with some colorful washi tape.

To recreate this card:

  1. Die cut three panels of white cardstock with the cover die and then stack and adhere the three layers together; set aside
  2. Create a guide for washi tape placement by placing the die, cutting side up, on your work surface and very lightly tapping it with a pigment ink pad (no need to ink up the borders and no need to be perfect, focusing on the center of the pattern where the lines intersect is sufficient); then place an A2-sized panel of white cardstock over the die cut so that the inked die pattern is transferred to the cardstock
  3. Adhere washi tape from the Red Sunset Slim Washi Tape set over the inked lines (see photo below)
  4. Trim the washi that hangs off the edges of the panel
  5. Adhere the piece made in step one over the panel
  6. Use the Fancy Hello die to cut a piece of orange cardstock (this is The Stamp Market’s Melon Orange) and a piece of white cardstock
  7. Adhere the sentiment layers together at a slight offset
  8. Use foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the card front
  9. Adhere the card front to a card base

Thank You – Inline Leaves Die Set

My next card features the large Inline Leaves dies against an embossed background (sorry that it’s a bit hard to see, but there’s lots of white texture in the background). I’m a sucker for leafy dies!

To recreate this card:

  1. Cut the base leafy layer out of yellow cardstock (this is Concord & 9th’s Buttercup)
  2. Cut the detail leafy layer out of teal cardstock (this is Hero Arts’ Paradise)
  3. Use the Cloudy Day 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a 4.25″ x 5.5″ of white cardstock
  4. Stamp the sentiment, from the Label Love stamp set, in black pigment ink onto white cardstock; trim into a strip
  5. Assemble the card front by adhering the leafy layers at a slight offset and trimming off the overhang; then adhere the sentiment strip with foam tape
  6. Adhere the card front to a card base

Thanks – Wave Form Cover Die

My last card features the Wave Form Cover Die which I used to create a dimensional card that, to me, looks like layers of paint dripping down onto a white canvas.

To recreate this card:

  1. Use the die to cut for colors of cardstock and a piece of white cardstock (the colors I used are Hero Arts Coral, The Stamp Market Papaya, Gina K. Peach Bellini, and Concord & 9th Buttercup); to create the dimensional effect cut multiple layers of each, adding one additional layer for each layer of “paint” as you move to the top left
  2. Adhere the multiple layers of each layer of “paint” together
  3. Cover a card base with tape runner or glue and then puzzle-piece and adhere the paint pieces together over the card base
  4. Use the detail layer of the Bold Thanks die set to cut a piece of Dazzling Diamond glitter cardstock; cut the shadow layer from vellum
  5. Adhere the two sentiment layers together
  6. Use foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the card front
  7. Adhere the card front to a card base

  1. I love that your cards are modern and with clean lines (or curves). More my style than some of the other designers. Love the washi tape idea under the cover plate for it.

  2. I wouldn’t know what to do with the string panel cover die. Not only did I like your card, but also your suggestions for weaving flowers through it,
