Hello there, I’m so glad you’re here!
Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Modern & Edgy release! If you arrived from Tenia Nelson’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.
I’ve got three cards to share today so let’s jump in!
Hello
My first card features the new Fresh Bloom stamp set and coordinating dies (also available as a bundle), along with the new Diamond Frame Cover die. These are my two favorite items from the release!
To recreate this card:
- Create the pink bloom by stamping the outline layer in Permanent Black ink, the four petal layers in Blush, Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, and Crimson Crisp Dye inks, and the center layers in Limeade and Firefly
- Create the yellow bloom using Sunray, Chamomile, Snapdragon, and Marigold (also available in a set) for the petal layers, and the same black and green colors as in step 1
- Stamp three sets of leaves using Permanent Black, Firefly, and Grass Field
- Stamp the small floral bunch four times in Permanent Black ink
- Use the coordinating dies to cut out all of the images
- Stamp the sentiment in black ink and trim into a sentiment strip
- Use the Diamond Frame Cover die to cut three frames from white cardstock
- Stack and adhere the frame layers together
- Adhere the frame to an A2-sized card base
- Use glue, glue dots, and foam tape to adhere the flowers, leaves, and sentiment

Thank You
My second card pairs more Fresh Bloom flowers with a faux dip-dye technique that I love.
To recreate this card:
- Stamp the blooms using Permanent Black ink for the outline layer, Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubellite, and Razzleberry (also available as a set) for the petal layers, and Caramel Toffee and Sunray for the centers of the flowers
- Stamp three sets of leaves in Permanent Black ink
- Use the coordinating dies to cut out all of the images and set them aside
- Cut a 2″ x 5-6″ piece of masking paper (or Post-it Tape) and tear it in two, lengthwise down the middle, to create two masks
- Use one piece and mask off, at an angle, the top of an A2-sized piece of white cardstock (since the strip is narrow, you may need to protect the top part of the panel with more masking paper or scrap paper)
- Use a large blending tool to blend Dew Drops ink over the exposed (bottom) area of the panel
- Remove the mask and use the other mask to mask off, at a different angle, a smaller portion of the bottom of the panel
- Blend Sea Breeze ink over the exposed bottom area of the panel
- Repeat twice more, remasking and changing the angle of the mask each time, using Ocean Waves and Aqualicious
- Use glue dots and foam tape to adhere the blooms and leaves
- Stamp the sentiment in black ink
- Adhere the card front to a card base

Hello Friend
My last card is a quick and easy one-layer card using the same faux dip-dye background technique and stamps from the new Modern Hello stamp set. I love how this stamp set has scripty words that appear to wind in front of and behind “Hello.”
To recreate this card:
- Follow steps 4-9 of the above card, this time using Frosty Pink for both the first and second bands of color, and Coral Bliss for the last two (use a light hand the first time you use each color and deepen the color when you use it the second time)
- Stamp the Hello sentiment in Coral Bliss
- Stamp the Friend sentiment in Permanent Black
- Adhere the card front to a card base
