Hello and happy August!
Today we’re celebrating the release of the beautiful Altenew Build-A-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia with a blog hop and giveaways! If you arrived from Nathalie DeSousa’s blog, you’re right on track. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.
I started off my card today by creating the two identical blooms. I stamped the outline layer in Permanent Black Ink onto white cardstock. I skipped the solid layer of the floral and went straight to the two detail layers which I stamped in Icy Water and Winter Lake. I used Chamomile and Snapdragon to stamp the two layers of the center of the flower and then I added some additional dots of orange using a marker. Then, I used the coordinating die to cut out both flowers and then set them aside.
Next, I created the background by using Post-it Tape to mask off the borders of an A2-sized panel of white cardstock, leaving just a square exposed. Using a large blending tool, I blended Chamomile ink over the exposed area, concentrating the color at the bottom left of the square and letting it fade almost to white at the top right. Then I deepened the color at the bottom left by blending on a bit of Snapdragon.
I removed the masking paper and then stamped the sentiment in Permanent Black. To finish, I adhered the flowers using a combination of adhesive dots and foam tape and then I adhered the card front to a card base.
Thank you so much for visiting! Please be sure to check out information about the giveaway below before you head on to visit the amazing Tenia Nelson!
